In addition, CO2 and SO2 in the atmosphere dissolve into the water film on the metal surface to form acidic substances, which promote metal corrosion. Corrosion pits form on the surface and develop into stress corrosion, resulting in a continuous decline in the cold-brittle resistance of the steel structure, increasing the risk of brittle fracture, reducing the steel structure's load-bearing capacity and earthquake resistance, and endangering the safety of people and equipment.
